v Nottingham

Our first game of the season eventually started. We had a solid start, with Becky Smart impressive in goal, Demi White and Natasha Brown looking good in defence.

We took the lead with a nice move and a goal from Alice Ryan, our movement was good and you would not think it was our first match together.
Soon we were two up, we kept plugging away and started passing the ball about Lauren Gallagher received a good ball from Sarah Smart and she took her goal well. Sarah soon got into her stride to scored a well struck goal to make it 4-0.

Nottingham started to play some good football and just before half time their forward was through on goal and Natasha caught the back of the forwards legs - a penalty was given to Nottingham - a great save by Becky, but she could not stop the re-bound.

Halftime 4-1

We took our foot off the peddle and might have though we were in for an easy game but Nottingham scored two goals in two minutes from the re-start. it was now time to roll up our sleeves. Our defence got going again, but just as we were getting on a top Nottingham scored against the run of play making it 4-4 with a powerful shot.

We refused to let our heads drop and a nice move and a good ball to Lauren set her up to score the winner. 5-4.

Well done girls you kept her heads up when some teams would have rolled over!
