7-A-SIDE RULES & REGULATIONS

1.       Games should be played across half a normal soccer pitch (approx size 50mx35m) OR on a purpose-marked area of a similar size.

2.       At each end of a semi-circular penalty area of approx 10m radius which has the same status as a normal penalty area i.e. outfield players allowed in, GK cannot handle the ball outside. Goal kicks can be taken from anywhere in or around the penalty area.

3.       Pitch to have a penalty spot at 6m

4.       Pitch to have a centre spot, but not necessarily a centre line.

5.       A recommended goal width of 4m using suitable posts, e g rounders posts or other suitable posts of a similar height (with due consideration for safety) OR purpose built 7 aside goals.

6.       Duration of matches to be 10 minutes each way, or a maximum of 15 minutes each way. This may be shortened for rallies if mutually agreed.

7.       Recommended ball size 3 OR size 4 if mutually agreed.

8.       SEVEN players (boys and /or girls) per side, which can be reduced by ONE player.

9.       The rules are as for a normal 11 a-side EXCEPT that there is no off-side rule. At kick-offs, corners and free kicks opposing players must be no less than 5m from the ball and substitutes to be allowed as and when agreed.

10.    Points awarded will be as follows:

11.    2 points for a win 1 point for a draw 1 point for playing

If you win you receive 3 points (2 for winning and 1 for playing). A draw gives 2 points (1 for the draw and 1 for playing). Losing teams receive 1 point for playing.
