 Reports from St Augustine's

On the 25th of October St.Augustine's Catholic Primary played Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School at Soldier's Field. It was very important to get a win because it was a league game. The  first half was very tight. The first game came from one of St Augustine's numerous corners. Jo Todd put in a perfectly weighted corner and T. Naden time his run from the edge of the area to side foot the ball home from 12 yards 1-0. 5 minutes later brought another corner for St. Augustine's and J.Todd again put in the perfect delivery. This time it was right under the bar and McPartlin popped in front of the keeper to head home on the line 2-0. Immaculate Heart put a lot of pressure and were rewarded with a fine shot from the edge of the box that flew past the keeper 2-1 to St.Augustine's  at half time. Throughout the second half Immaculate Heart were the more attacking team, but J. Naden scored the complete winner, forcing the ball home on the line after a cross from the left 3-1.

Final Score: St.Augustine's 3-1 Immaculate Heart

On Thursday 1St  of November,  St.Augustine's   played St. Theresa's  at
St. Theresa's pitch . In the  first half   St.Augustine's  played against the  wind therefore resulting in St.Theresa's having a 2-0 lead at half time. The first goal happened because of Kneeshaw's poor marking  and terrible defending.  St. Theresa's then scored a second goal because J. Naden gave away a free kick at the edge of the box by a hand ball,  which St Theresa's used to score their second goal. St.Augustine's were losing 2-0  and trailed off the pitch at half time.

After a few words from the St.Augustine's coach St.Augustine's started the second half. Now with the wind on  St.Augustine's side they started the second half with a goal . The goal all started from Wood throw in which Ja.Todd flicked the ball off his foot, McPartlin  took a shot on goal and it flew in the bottom right corner. Soon after St.Augustine's  had scored the equaliser because  of a cross by Ja. Todd  which was expertly  finished  by McPartlin.
Then St.Augustine's   scored their third goal which came from a cleared corner. Ja. Todd  then laid it off to T.Naden who lobbed the keeper for a brilliant goal. Shortly after T.Naden  gave away a needless penalty waving his hands in the air as the ball approached him.  St.Theresa' s scored a lucky goal, as Haynes  caught the ball, but dropped it in the back of the net.  Therefore the score was 3-3. St.Augustine's took the kick off and shot down the field, where they won a corner. The ball rebounded off the post and it came to M.Todd who found himself on the edge of the box, he shot straight into the bottom corner to score the final winner.
